Jordy Nelson Agrees to Four-Year Extension

GREEN BAY, Wis.–

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jordy Nelson made headlines earlier this week when he issued his interest in a new contract with the Packers. Following the open session of Training Camp on Saturday, the Packers pulled the trigger on locking up their number-one receiver, and they kept him long term.

Nelson was already under contract throughout the 2014 season, so this four-year deal worth $39-million would lock Nelson up through the 2018 season. Sources have been told that this contract includes a $11.9-million signing bonus.

Nelson set two career highs last season with 85 receptions and 1,314 receiving yards, which also came with a solid eight touchdowns.

Jordy Nelson is one-half of the dynamic duo in the receiving core for Green Bay, along with Randall Cobb. Cobb’s contract is also up following the 2014 season, and quarterback Aaron Rodgers had some words regarding Cobb’s contract, “I would love for Randall Cobb to be next,” Rodgers said.
