Brewers call up Jeremy Jeffress, Send Rob Wooten to Triple-A

MILWAUKEE–

The Milwaukee Brewers made a roster move today. They called up former first round pick Jeremy Jeffress who was picked by the Brewers in the first round of the 2006 MLB Draft. Jeffress is 26 years of age right now, and was apart of the Zack Greinke trade that sent him and Lorenzo Cain, Alcides Escobar, and Jake Odorizzi to the Royals in-exchange for Zack Greinke and Yuniesky Betancourt to the Brewers along with cash considerations. Jeffress, never lived up to his potential due to problems with marijuana. If he gets caught with Marijauna again, he could face a lifetime ban from the MLB. However, he hasn’t been caught with drugs since 2009, so it looks like that problem is past him. When Jeffress enters a game for the Brewers, it’ll be is first appearance as a Brewer since 2010. Jeffress will wear number 21. The Brewers sent down Rob Wooten who gave up the walk-off double to Jason Werth Sunday night.
